Yey no more drafts

Last week I cleared out my drafts that have been sitting in my drafts for almost a year. I remember putting those four posts up sometime before the beginning of the year last year and now I have finally put them out there.

I guess this is more of a place-holder so that I can get something out there. The odd thing is that I am off today and I didn't have something lined up to post. Now I have to come up with something so that I don't go an entire week without a post.

Something that I found is that when you post something and you think it is well written, you never know if it is understood until someone else looks at it. I truly appreciate all of your comments on my Friendship Posts last week. It is rather unfortunate that I had training from Wednesday through Friday and I couldn't follow up with clarifications and counter arguments because I was too mentally exhausted to get on-line and do so.

Perhaps what I'm looking for is some suggestions on things that I can post— or more importantly, other strategies for writing posts. I do not want to have drafts that are in my drafts for too long again. Nor do I want to worry about not having any drafts at all. Do you have drafts, or are you the kind of person that writes all of their posts and posts them right away?

Any advise is greatly appreciated,

You had posts from a year ago...man I need help!! I need some drafts for days I am not up to blogging and Yes I HAVE to blog daily. Why can I never think of extra blog posts?!!

I always just sit down and write a post from start to finish then post it right away. Unless it's one of those days of the week posts, then I'll pre-post for the correct day but usually I'm not that organized and don't end up blogging about it until the day of anyhow. If I just leave it as a draft, it usually never gets posted.

I'm at a stand still... I only post when I have something to say. Which should be everyday, but the busier I get the emptier my brain gets...do you know what I mean???

I do both. I start something that I work on a little bit every day or so then post when it's done. I also post by the seat of my pants. Like today. Totally written on the fly. And...it shows.

I post right away... then feel bad about it & delete it :0. I am one of those who worry about what others think...like today... do I sound like a big ol baby cause I can't be with family? When other people have so many real problems?

My readers have caught on to my deleted posts & now call me on it.. LOL
Thanks for popping by! : )

I have a few drafts. I have the bad habit of using my blog as a venting post, so write it out and then save it in drafts and then go back later and most the time I change A LOT of it, LOL.

Thanks for visiting my blog by the way : )

I usually just write and post... Drafts that I start usually never make it into full-fledged posts. Occasionally, though, I will labor over something for a week or so, tweaking every day.

Hmmmm. So I guess I'm kind of all over the board, huh? I wish I was more organized and had a handful of go-to posts ready at any moment, though. I've been having a very tough time keeping a writing schedule since our move to the UK.

I find that unfinished drafts rarely make it to being published. I think for me, when I set it aside, it tends to lose its immediacy, and if I try to go back to it, it's nearly impossibly to find that thread again. I try my best to write it all in one setting, although plenty of times I can't find the time to sit down and do it because life and four children won't let me, so occasionally it's a week or more between posts.

Also, thanks for stopping by this fine Tuesday.

I'm with Mrs. Bear - if I have a draft sitting for too long, I end up deleting it without posting it because the 'immediacy' gets lost on the line of thought I had started with.

I pretty much sit down the day before I'm going to post something and just write it start to finish - but I'll usually step away (mostly because I get interrupted a lot if Hovering Hubby or Princess Nagger are around when I do it) and come back to it later to tweak it before I schedule it to post at midnight.

Yeah, I find that if I start writing something and never post it, it just wasn't meant to be. My best posts are about things that just hit me and I have to get them down quickly. I might step away for a few hours then finish them up if I'm really busy, but I always post them within a day.

Sounds like a lot of people write their post and then post it right away. I learned in college the importance of writing for clarity. Since many of my series posts need to be read alone as well as part of the series, I have to labor a bit more in order to make it clear to the reader.

I will have to post about the difference in my strategies when it comes to both poetry and blog posts since many of you incorporate the same strategy in your posting as I do with my poetry.

Usually we publish immediately type bloggers. I don't like to think about it too much because then I start editing and don't like it. I hit publish and be done with it. Hopefully it makes sense to someone else besides me.
