Photo Tag

I got an e-mail Friday morning from Clark Kent's Lunchbox asking to participate in a tag. Even though I don't normally participate in tags (they remind me too much of chain mails)… I figured I would give this one a try since I was already on iPhoto this morning collecting pictures of our dog and could easily do so again. Below are the instructions he gave along with my altercations— since my photos are stored on our Mac and the instructions are for PC:

  1. go to your documents
    launch iPhoto
  2. go to your 6th file.
    go to your 6th Album
  3. go to your 6th picture.
    no changes here… sorry
  4. blog about it.
    or here either
  5. tag 6 friends to do the same.
I have opted not to do this step. If you want to know why—see below.

OK… great! Here's what I found…

This is a picture of my Step-son Matt (on the right) and some of his classmates at his graduation from Lincoln Tech where he learned to be a mechanic.

Matt has always liked cars. My wife tells me that when he was little he used to line up his toy cars along the window sill and play with them for hours. When I met him he wanted to be a navy pilot— probably because he loved Top Gun. By the time he moved out of the house he was working in the food industry as a line cook. I am sure that he always wanted to work with cars— which is why I was so glad that he took his own initiative and got into Lincoln Tech on his own. He also was resourceful enough to be able to figure out how to pay for his education and be able to graduate on his own with out any assistance from my wife or myself. I am very proud of his accomplishments and staying with what he loves.

As I indicated before, I am not much into taging people— mostly because I do not know my fellow bloggers enough to know if they like to participate in such things— but also because I do not want to feel guilty "breaking the chain". However, if you like this game and want to participate— feel free to do so. If you do because of this post— be sure to mention it on your post by linking back to this one, and let me know so I can feel good about increasing my Sphere of Influence.

It is a great feeling when our kids accomplish their goals, even when they do it without us.

I loved your photo tag, I have seen it before but never done it. But, after seening what photo came up for you and what great memories it held I too had to follow suit and see what random photo for me would pop up.

that's awesome. the best thing one can do is pursue what they love. i'd play along, but since my laptop is so new, i don't have any photos on it yet. except the one silly one of me from photobooth.

I'm not big on the tags either and for the same reason, but this one has been a little more interesting because to the stories behind the pictures... just like your son.

Thanks for playing on this one. Good post.

Great picture! Good for your son! And how lucky are you to have a mechanic in the family! I would kill for one of those lately : ) I just accidently erased all of my pictures on my computer last week. Yeah I'm a smart one, or else I would have played along! : )

Glad to hear he followed his dream. I'm sure it's meant so much more to him that he did it himself.

I'm with you on the whole tag bits. Is it bad when we ignore tags? Outright? I do all the time. I'm just one serious rule breaker I guess. :)

This was a good post. I'm not sure how I feel about tags. I've only gotten one before and I did it. It was actually kind of cool, but it wasn't a picture one like this.

I don't think my sphere of influence is very big at the moment.
