Welcome again to Friday's Feast. Today I'll be sharing my recipe for lemon shakeups. One year I went down to Springfield Illinois and attended the State Fair. When I was there they were selling lemon shakeups. Given that I have several cocktail shakers, I decided that I would make my own— besides it gives me practice pouring without having to drink liquor. Makes approximately 2 8oz glasses worth.
- Lemon Shakeups:
- 1 Lemon
- 1 cocktail shaker (or two glasses)
- Ice (4-6 Cubes)
- Water
- 1/4 C sugar
- Slice the lemon.
- Add half of the sliced lemon to the shaker.
- Add a few Ice cubes (just enough to fill the shaker).
- Add the sugar to the shaker.
- Add water to fill the shaker.
- Put the lid on and shake your moneymaker (actually just the cocktail shaker).
- Pour into a glass.
- Enjoy.
