F2: Lemon Shake-ups

Welcome again to Friday's Feast. Today I'll be sharing my recipe for lemon shakeups. If you don't know what Friday's Feast is all about, please read the Friday's Feast page for a more detailed explanation. If you want to join in on the feast— be sure to leave a comment and include the URL to your post so I and others can know of your contribution.

Participants in this weeks Feast are as follows:

With inspirations from Honest Abe…

One year I went down to Springfield Illinois and attended the State Fair. When I was there they were selling lemon shakeups. Given that I have several cocktail shakers, I decided that I would make my own— besides it gives me practice pouring without having to drink liquor. Makes approximately 2 8oz glasses worth.

Lemon Shakeups:
1 Lemon
1 cocktail shaker (or two glasses)
Ice (4-6 Cubes)
Water
1/4 C sugar
  1. Slice the lemon.
  2. Add half of the sliced lemon to the shaker.
  3. Add a few Ice cubes (just enough to fill the shaker).
  4. Add the sugar to the shaker.
  5. Add water to fill the shaker.
  6. Put the lid on and shake your moneymaker (actually just the cocktail shaker).
  7. Pour into a glass.
  8. Enjoy.

Next weeks topic is Picnic. If you have ever attended a picnic (company, family, or otherwise) and have an interesting story to share, please do. Also, if you have any interesting picnic foods that you enjoy— you can let us know as well. So… if you have anything that relates to this topic, be sure to leave a comment and include the URL so I can include you in next weeks feast. Even if you have already posted on this topic in the past— your links are always welcome.
