RTT: Bites and Series

It's that day of the week— time to Join Keely over at The Un Mom for some Random Tuesday Thoughts…

Bites Bite:

At the end of the past two weekends I have found the knuckles of my hands littered with mosquito bites. Really don't know why they decide to target my knuckles, but it is very hard to ignore and even more painful when I do scratch the bites.

So often I scratch to the point where the area around the bite swells up and it hurts like a bruise. I look at my hands and it looks like I have arthritis with my joints so swollen up. It even stings when I put anti-itch cream on the bite. Looks like the bites really bite.

Series Bites:

Lately I have been following the Stanley Cup series. I normally don't watch hockey since I never understood the game. I had a neighbor when I was in college who was on the school's hockey team and he tried to explain how it is played, but I never quite caught on. However, since the Hawks are from Chicago I like to show my support.

After the last two losses over the weekend I begin to wonder if the whole series is fixed. I've seen it before when the Bulls played in the NBA finals where you can tell that they just aren't playing the same and lose games that they should be winning. I always suspect that the TV stations just want more advertising revenue, so they fix it so that it goes on for seven games.

Bites Series:

I'm getting a little tired of all the Vampire Shows on TV. It kind of reminds me of all the Reality TV shows that suddenly appeared during the writers strike several years back. After a while you just get tired of the same thing rehashed over and over again.

Series Series:

Some of you may be here for the Random Tuesday's Thoughts regular series. I also have a weekly series you may want to "partake" in called Friday's Feast. If you don't know what Friday's Feast is all about, please read the Friday's Feast page so you can join in on the feast.

That's about it for my randomness— so if you want some more random click that button… (I know you want to)

Mosquitoes are annoying, aren't they? They tend to dive bomb my ankles, and if I'm wearing flip-flops, my toes, too! Very annoying. And itchy.

I have to agree with you about the inundation of the vampire series - and you're right, the reality shows increased big time during the writer's strike. Quality television seems to be a thing of the past anymore.

I'm with you. The vampires can go (and they can take reality tv with them...)

And sorry but...GO FLYERS. :)

Mosquitos are the one big thing I totally don't like about summer. I get bites all over, and they get all huge and gross. Summer would be perfect without any kind of insect, in my opinion :-)

uh have you had Chicken pox? could it be that you actually have shingles? we"ve had that going around here lately. The school has CP on the go and my walking buddy has shingles. I haven't called her in a week!

I haven't read a single Vampire book or watched a Vampire show or movie, not interested. saw enough when that Interview with a Vampire ws out in the 90s, ick!

I'm with you on the vampire thing. I'm so sick of shows about vampires! I guess it's always like this, one or two things with the same idea are successful (Twilight, True Blood) and suddenly copycat shows pop up everywhere. Enough already.

Are you sure it's mosquito bites? That is too weird that they're only biting your knuckles. Maybe a rash? Though I don't know why it would only be on your knuckles either. Weird. And painful. Poor you.

Try lightly rubbing around the bites instead of scratching them..oddly it relieves the itching I've found. I don't do vampire flicks..yikes! Thanks for the visit...happy RTT :)

I hear you on the vampire shows. I pretty much can't stand television this time of year because all of the good shows are gone on hiatus and we are stuck watching second rate programming.

I am not a vampire series fan, but it's become such a huge trend I'm sure all the networks are looking for ways to capitalize.

And the bites on the knuckles sound uncomfortable, kind of a weird place to get bit.

Chicago in the house! WOOT! :)

The mosquito-knuckle thing is pretty wild. I get eaten alive by mosquitoes, but they don't target my knuckles. Thanks so much for the visit and comment love!

You can always tell people that the bruises and puffy knuckles are because you got in a fist fight--and won. And I am so sick of vampires too! Wasn't that back in the 90s with the Anne Rice books? Are we there again already?

I agree about the mosquitoes. Those little suckers, along with ticks, are about the worst part of the summer!
