Wordful Wednesday - Spikester Diddly Dog

In order to fulfill Mamma Kat's Wordful Wednesday Assignment I have chosen to talk about our dog Spike. I don't know what it is about our dog— but I swear he's part Cat, part Mountain Goat, and part Kangaroo. Let me explain:

Part Cat…
Spike loves milk. Whenever I make a warm milk for my wife in the evening, he's right there begging for some. Many times we just pour him a small cupful and he laps it up.
Part Mountain Goat…
One would wonder how a dog can balance on the arm of the sofa— but he does. Because of his prowess we have to wonder who his parents actually were… since we got him from the pound there is no record as to what actual breed he is.
Part Kangaroo…
I have not seen this in many dogs— but when Spike is excited he will get up on his hind legs and thrust his front paws in a circular motion much like a boxing kangaroo. He will also hop if he is on a leash which makes us wonder…

With all of these strange traits I would like to know what creatures his parents were…

Don't you just LOVE pound mutts! You never quite know what you are going to get. I love the surprise. We need a photo of your four legged loved one!

It's a metro-sexual Cubacabra. I saw them on Discovery channel.

How do you not post a picture of this hybrid animal? I want to see... put some boxing gloves on him when you take the picture ;)

we have a pound pup, too, and swear ours is part cat (they could be related), part lamb and part deer.

you know for $99 (they're running a holiday special), you can get that creature of yours dna tested.

it's tempting, but we're too afraid that we would think less of ours than we already do when we get the results.

In my haste to get the post out I forgot to include pictures. Once I am able to find some that show these traits I will have a follow-up post.

Yes, post a pic of the dog so that we can all try to vote on his parentage. The warm milk is pretty funny. My dog likes ice cream. She sits all nice and tall while we're eating so that she can like out our bowls. She's bummed (and bewildered) when we have chocolate ice cream.

lick out our bowls, not like out. I can't type today.

Sounds like an awesome dog! My dog will eat ANYTHING and loves to lick my face until I think I am going to drown in dog slobber, which is made all that much more interesting with the fact that she eats anything. yuck...but I still let her do it ;)

I'm still stuck on warm milk for your wife. Really?

Is she Asian? Cuz that's what my asian sister-in-law loves...but I haven't met a lot of other adults who feel the same.:)

Came over from MamaKat's. Like ThreeBoys1Mommy (who is a friend of mine - small world), I'd like to see a photo of Spike. Preferably in Goat form.

Until such time that I can find pictures of the dog that represent all of the animals he's related to… here's a picture of him from our camping trip last summer:

He may look more goat-like in this one— there may be others in the set, but I haven't had the time to check.

That is sooo funny and I hope you consider posting some photographic evidence of this. That would be a hoot!

Awww he's cute...looks like a kairn terrier (or however you spell it).

And I'm also a little baffled at your wife's warm milk...perhaps she's half cat as well.

Next time I'm over, I will get some video of chicken lips doing his kangaroo.
